About Sean Clement
Hi, my name is Sean Andrew Clement and I am currently 27 years old. I am currently employed by T J Dixon Limited which is located in the Cleethorpes Business Centre in Grimsby, North East Lincs.
In 2011, I left college and started working for Dean Marshall Consultancy Ltd (DMC). DMC specialise in the Joomla Content Management System (CMS) which at this point, I had only dabbled in. DMC provided a number of services such as security, hosting and support services. In December of 2012 I started work on DMC Firewall - a Joomla security extension that aids in the protection of any Joomla 2.5 or Joomla 3.x site. In March 2013, DMC Firewall was released and in April, DMC Firewall was approved on the Joomla! Extension Directory. Since then, I have been working on bespoke extensions for clients ranging in custom components to custom plugins that aided in the functionality of the clients websites.
In 2015, I started working for T J Dixon Limited (for the second time) along side Dean Marshall Consultancy Ltd, aiding in the creation of a bespoke paymanet gateway for a client. At that time, creating the payment gateway took up to 85% of my working day, making sure that the payment gateway worked the way the client intended. After the launch of the payment gateway, my time was then more readily available to focus on other client projects, such as IT Support for local businesses and website builds.
Along with a busy 2015, I started getting familiar with WordPress and started making DMC Firewall for WordPress. In September of 2016, I released the initial Beta version of DMC Firewall for WordPress which at present, has been downloaded 1,300 times. In 2017, I made the decision to leave Dean Marshall Consultancy Ltd and take a full time position at T J Dixon Limited which unfortunately means that any further development on DMC Firewall (both for Joomla! and WordPress) is currently on hold within the company.
Towards the end of 2016 and into the beginning of 2017, I started to develop custom extensions based around the idea of starting my own company providing Joomla! and WordPress custom extensions and plugins. My main area of attention is a service called Site Manager which provides one control panel which gives you the ability to make all of your clients Joomla! and WordPress websites - receiving notifications when a website is down and push-button to update the core CMS and Third Party Extensions. Along with Site Manager, I have a number of other extensions currently in development, such as Developer Tools which contains the ability to release extensions, provide a support ticket area and a subscription management area. 'Recruitment' which allows you to advertise job positions and manage applicants - this extension is mainly for recruitment companies. Along with these, I have many other extensions in development which will all be released under the company that I am currently planning to start.
